Burrinja Public Fund

LIGHTS – SOUND – ACTION!

By becoming a Burrinja Foundation Donor you can help light up the show and pump up the volume in our wonderful new Dandenong Ranges performing arts venue!

In May 2011 a new era of arts, culture and community comes to the Hills when we open a 400 seat purpose-built performing arts venue at Burrinja.
This fabulous facility will enable the region’s community, schools, theatre companies and music groups to access a quality performing arts venue without having to travel long distances ‘off the mountain’.

With the support of our Members, stakeholders and countless others in the community, works on the new Theatre began in January 2010. After what has been a long period of project development, on-site activity now brings home the reality that by mid 2011 the region will at last have its own theatre. To follow the project’s development in pictures, check out the ‘building photos’ album on the Burrinja Facebook page

Funding from the Local, State and Federal Governments has allowed us to design a facility that will deliver excellent stage, performer, technical and audience facilities, full disability access, an indigenous education cultural garden and many other improvements.

We need your Help
Many of the essential ‘fit out’ items needed to fully equip the theatre are not yet funded.
This includes audio equipment, theatre lighting fixtures (lamps), digital projection equipment
and musical instruments.

We need a total of $90,000 by December 2010 to achieve our equipment targets.
December 2010 ..............................................$90,000
December 2009 ..............................................$45,000.
Currently pledged (June 2009) ..........................$20,000

The pledges of over 40 Foundation Donors have already raised $20,000 towards funding this necessary equipment.
But we still need a further $70,000 to open the theatre’s doors with the best facilities possible for our performers and our community
.

To help us reach our targets, Donations to the Burrinja Public Fund are now TAX DEDUCTABLE
