Each month there is an informal and friendly Open Mic night at the Burrinja Cafe with regular and new performers (especially 1st timers) welcoming all musos, poets, duos and trios.

See others performing to get a feel for the place and maybe perform yourself or simply come along and enjoy a great meal and a few drinks in this friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Embracing her double bass like a lover, Liz invites you along a journey through a luminous emotional landscape, reassuring you with a warm, generous voice and a smile which has become her trademark. She has become an audience favourite on the music festival circuit whether performing alone, with Sydney band Jigzag, award winning songwriter Fred Smith, Melbourne's first all girl Old Timey outfit Dev'lish Mary, iconic vaudeville showman Mic Conway or 2008 National Flat pick guitar champion Robbie Long. There is something undeniably sensual about the way her double bass & body become indistinguishable in full flight. Add to this how the velvety warmth of her vocals linger like a nice merlot and you will understand her universal appeal.

The Ranges Concert Lounge is held on the last Friday of every month featuring great music in the relaxed and friendly, intimate atmosphere of the Burrinja Café in Upwey. The cafe/bar has a wide variety of delicious food so you can come along and have dinner there before or during the show.

Mountain Pickers Association

Victorian audiences and pickers have an opportunity to partake in a regular musical event in the Dandenong Ranges area. The Mountain Pickers Association is attracting strong audiences to its monthly bluegrass meetings at Burrina Cultural Centre.

This week features the guest act Strzelecki Stringbusters

The structure of the evening is a blackboard concert with a paid feature band on the night. Entry to the evening costs $15.00/$12.00 and members of the newly formed Mountain Pickers Association are charged $10.00.

Dine with the spirits in a fun and friendly atmosphere - featuring professional healers, psychics, mediums, tarot readers and other alternative professionals.

Acoustic Brew

Mix it up and play with experienced musicians in a relaxed setting, hosted by Michelle Chandler.

Be there at 8pm to put your name on the blackboard to perform 3 songs (or 15 mins). Bring charts if you can. There is a list of songs the musicians can play from which you can choose if you prefer.

A dedication to four of the greatest singers/singer songwriters of our time, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Joe Cocker and James Taylor as performed by Andrew (Wizard) Farrell & Dave(Oz) McMillan. They have often been critically acclaimed as the most dynamic and talented duo in Australia.

After years of wowing intimate theatres & festival crowds as Wizard and Oz all over Australia and New Zealand, Andrew and Dave have constructed a show in honour of the songsmiths that have influenced them and millions of music lovers across the world.

The show is laced with facts and stories about 'the man himself', and the wonderful Hot August Night – one of the best-selling albums in Australian music history.

Their breathe-taking live performance brings a dimension to guitar playing rarely seen in the musical world, recognised through five Aria Award nominations, and performances with symphony orchestras and at international festivals across Europe, USA, UK, Asia, Russia, South Africa and the Middle East.

This The Seasons, a twelve-movement composition written for solo piano by the iconic Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, has at last been arranged for two guitars by Edward Grigoryan for his sons Slava and Leonard Grigoryan, who together are one of the world's leading guitar duos.

South of the River Choir

South of the River Choir is a Melbourne based award winning community choir celebrating diversity and harmony through a shared passion for singing. Under the direction of Annemarie Sharry, since 2002, the choir explores the music and rhythms of Africa, traditional African American Gospel and original Australian compositions.Since forming in 2002, the 35 voice a'cappella and percussion ensemble has firmly established itself in the Melbourne Music scene, as regular festival performers, including Port Fairy Folk Festival and Apollo Bay Music festival along with numerous music venues, community events, maximum security prisons and an annual Gospel Pub Crawl!

With support by The Michelle Chandler Trio. An experienced musician, Michelle Chandler is known for her ability in lyric and music composition. She's a skilled guitarist and gifted vocalist and has played many of the folk and music festivals and venues throughout Australia, the UK and US.
