Building a new Performing Arts Centre

In May 2011 a new era of arts and community comes to the hills when we open a 400 seat purpose-built performing arts venue at Burrinja. This fabulous facility will enable the region’s community, schools, theatre companies and music groups to access a quality performing arts venue right here in the Dandenong Ranges.

With building scheduled to start in late 2009, the Burrinja Performing Arts venue will encourage greater cultural participation across the region.

Music - Theatre - Dance - Film
As well as its main theatre season, Burrinja presents a varied program of performance events, including music, film and children's events, with amateur, youth, school and professional productions. See our Events page for full details of all coming events.

The Performance Space
Seats 150 people in a flat floor space with excellent stage, lighting and sound facilities. Available for performances, rehearsals, workshops, functions and seminars.

Burrinja Public Fund
By becoming a Burrinja Foundation Donor you can help light up the show and pump up the volume in the region’s new theatre! Many of the essential ‘fit out’ items are not yet funded. We still need another $70,000 to open the theatre’s doors with the best facilities for our performers and our community.

Cafe - Live Music - Functions
Famous for great music and dinner shows, Burrinja cafe offers a unique intimate atmosphere, with a fabulous line up of Australian and international musicians. Be seduced by our warm ochres, comfy lounges and superlative art. Prefect for that special function or celebration with a delicious difference.

Burrinja Café is now Open Seven Days a week, from 10am to 5pm, as well as special events.
